Meet The Doctor


Syeda Zafrin, DMD, MS

Dr. Syeda Zafrin grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia. She always had a passion to be in the healthcare field to make a positive difference in people’s lives. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, and subsequently received Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University. She then completed her dental training at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, where she led groups of dental students on mission trips abroad with the purpose of changing lives through improving oral health. For her distinguished service in the local and international communities, she received the Humanitarian Award from the International College of Dentists USA Section, and Leadership Excellence Award. To pursue her interest in periodontics and implant dentistry, she completed her postdoctoral specialty training at University of North Carolina. Her Master’s thesis focused on assessing deviations in dental implant placement using computer-guided surgery. Through the course of her academic career, she earned numerous awards and scholarships of scholastic excellence.

Dr. Zafrin’s specialty care includes periodontal disease, dental implants, soft tissue grafting, oral surgery, bone regeneration and many more. It is her goal to help people by providing highest quality periodontal care using the best dental technology, treatment options and patient comfort. Dr. Zafrin uses evidence-based approach to practice and stay updated with continuing education, which ultimately results in better patient care. She provides each patient a personalized treatment plan to provide exceptional care in a friendly and compassionate environment. Dr. Zafrin often lectures to local and national societies. She maintains involvement with various professional organizations including American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and American Dental Association.

Outside of practice, Dr. Zafrin and her husband enjoys watching their two daughters grow. They like to go hiking, traveling, trying new food and spending time with family and friends.
